Eight Directions Inscription Taoist Tag

A yellow inset with a red inscription sits inside a pale clipped-corner frame. The hanging ring is set above the rectangular panel.

Sold individually.

Look first at the main motif of the eight directions inscription tag. Its place in the Daojing collection reflects the use of ornament and inscription to carry a personal intention. Choose the particular design that speaks to the occasion, rather than assuming every motif has the same devotional use.

An inscription can run along the length of the tag or across its face. Follow its orientation when choosing how to display it. For hanging, check the size and position of the opening rather than assuming a particular cord is included.
