Five Mountains Peace Inscription Taoist Plaque

Four separate outlined emblems fill one face. Fine pale characters descend in columns on the other, leaving the dark ground visible between them.

Sold individually.

Ping an is a wish for peace or safety. It is the reason this motif is chosen for a peace-wish gift rather than a description of what the object can do.

A peace inscription expresses the wish that someone will come and go safely. It can be chosen for a traveler, a family member leaving home or a household seeking peace. The particular inscription matters more than the color alone.

For display, decide which face you want to read from a little distance. Deep relief and narrow incised lines catch side light differently; leave room around the outline rather than pressing the face against another object.
