Taoist Koi Inscription Tube Bead

A short tube carries a small framed inscription on its side. Its cylindrical shape leaves a clear passage for threading.

Sold individually.

Look first at the main motif of the koi inscription tube bead. Its place in the Daojing collection reflects the use of ornament and inscription to carry a personal intention. Choose the particular design that speaks to the occasion, rather than assuming every motif has the same devotional use.

If you intend to restring an existing piece, the bore and the outside diameter matter separately. Check both against the cord you plan to use. A close photograph can show a rim or groove but not an exact drilling measurement.

The supplier lists 925 silver for this design.
