The Five Mountains motif identifies the design family. Read the other inscriptions as well: pieces with a similar front can have a different reverse.

A blessing inscription gives a good wish a visible form. It can accompany a gift for a family celebration or a new beginning. Read the particular design as a greeting or devotion rather than assuming every blessing carries the same meaning.

For display, decide which face you want to read from a little distance. Deep relief and narrow incised lines catch side light differently; leave room around the outline rather than pressing the face against another object.
