Star & moon Bodhi

Star and moon Bodhi is a trade name for palm-seed beads with characteristic small markings and a larger eye-like feature. Exact botanical identification should come from the product information rather than the pattern alone. The dark speckles against a pale surface create the familiar star-and-moon appearance. Bead shape, spacing of the markings and polishing can produce a very different overall look from one strand to another.

Choosing your piece

Compare diameter, shape, drilling and surface finish. Check whether the color is natural or treated. A visually regular pattern does not independently establish age, quality grade or ritual history.

Care notes

Avoid soaking, high heat and very rapid humidity changes. Dry wiping is the conservative choice. Handle gently around drill holes and let any damp cord dry fully before storage.
